Over de kunstenaars

Elodie Hiryczuk (Avignon, 1977) en Sjoerd van Oevelen (Steenbergen, 1974) studeerden respectievelijk Audiovisuele Kunst en Architectonische Vormgeving aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Sinds 2001 werken zij samen als het duo Hiryczuk/Van Oevelen. Hun autonome beeldende werk en grootschalige installaties richten zich op de werking van de blik, perspectief en onze verhouding tot het landschap. Zij exposeren wereldwijd op toonaangevende kunstbeurzen (zoals FIAC Parijs en Art Rotterdam) en in musea, en werden onder meer genomineerd voor de Van Bommel Van Dam Prijs.

About the Artists

Elodie Hiryczuk (Avignon, 1977) and Sjoerd van Oevelen (Steenbergen, 1974) studied Audiovisual Art and Architectural Design respectively at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Since 2001, they have collaborated as the duo Hiryczuk/Van Oevelen. Their autonomous visual artworks and large-scale installations focus on perception, perspective, and humanity’s relationship to landscape. They have exhibited internationally at leading art fairs such as FIAC and Art Rotterdam, as well as in museums worldwide, and were nominated for the Van Bommel Van Dam Prijs.
