Photography meets Film: Capa, Ivens and Fernhout in China, 1938
Rixt A. Bosma re-examines the relationship between Photo-journalist Robert Capa and the Dutch filmmaker Joris Ivens, while they were travelling and working together in China during the Sino-Japanese War in 1938.
Capa had been asked to join Ivens and his cameraman John Fernhout as stills photographer and camera assistant on their film The 400 Million (1939).
