Niet zomaar een kamerplantenboek

Not Another Jungle: Comprehensive Care for Extraordinary Houseplants is bedoeld voor plantenliefhebbers die verder willen gaan dan de gebruikelijke kamerplanten. Tony Le-Britton richt zich op bijzondere, soms zeldzame en sterk verzamelde soorten en variëteiten, maar koppelt die fascinatie nadrukkelijk aan kennis over hoe planten daadwerkelijk groeien.

Zijn uitgangspunt is dat goede verzorging begint bij het begrijpen van de oorspronkelijke leefomgeving van een plant. De Britse plantenverzamelaar Tony Le-Britton bouwde onder de naam Not Another Jungle een omvangrijke collectie bijzondere kamerplanten op. Hij leerde als kind tuinieren van zijn grootouders en brengt in dit boek ongeveer dertig jaar ervaring met het kweken van planten samen.

Zijn collectie en expertise kregen ook buiten de wereld van gespecialiseerde plantenverzamelaars aandacht; Le-Britton was onder meer te zien in het BBC-programma Gardeners' World.
